F The Hours

Terms of Service

Last updated 17 September 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of F The Hours, the service available at fthehours.io ("the Service"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

Provider: Caleb Thompson, sole trader, trading as F The Hours ("we", "us", "our"). For the duration of the beta period the provider is operating as a sole trader; we will update this page to reference our UK limited company once registration is finalised.

1. Eligibility

You may use the Service only if:

  • You are at least 18 years old; and
  • You are resident in the United Kingdom; and
  • You are self-employed, a sole trader, a limited-company director, or otherwise responsible for your own financial administration; and
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

2. Your account

You are responsible for the security of your account, including keeping your password confidential and any actions taken from your account. You agree to notify us promptly at support@fthehours.io if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, that we believe has been compromised, or that we are required to suspend by law.

3. The beta period

The Service is currently in public beta. The beta has no fixed end date: it runs until we are satisfied the Service is ready for general release. During the beta period:

  • Every plan is offered free of charge to all beta participants, and no payment details are collected.
  • The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no representation or warranty regarding uptime, feature completeness, or data preservation during the beta.
  • We may introduce, change, or remove features at any time without notice. We will not, however, intentionally damage or destroy data you have entered.
  • Before billing starts we will email you, at least 14 days in advance, to confirm whether you wish to continue on a paid plan or to export and delete your data. Nothing is charged without that notice and your active choice.
  • If you choose not to continue, you may export your data at any time using the in-app export tool.

4. Subscriptions and payment

After the beta period, continued use of the Service requires a subscription. Current plans:

  • Starter — £3.99 per month or £29 per year.
  • Freelance Pro — £8.99 per month or £79 per year.
  • Business — £19.99 per month, plus £3 per additional seat per month.

Subscriptions renew automatically on the same cycle (monthly or annual) until cancelled. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access until then. Payment is processed by Stripe, which is the controller for your cardholder data.

Refunds outside of statutory consumer rights are at our discretion. UK consumer law gives you a 14-day right to cancel a digital service unless you have started using it, in which case you waive that right by signing up.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to facilitate any unlawful activity
  • Attempt to access another user's data or account
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without our written permission (responsible-disclosure reports to support@fthehours.io are always welcome)
  • Upload viruses, malware, or other harmful code
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to download data, except as part of your own data export
  • Resell, sublicense, or rebrand the Service without a written agreement with us
  • Use the Service in a way that breaches the rights of any other person, including intellectual-property and privacy rights

6. Your data

You retain ownership of the data you enter into the Service. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process, and display your data solely to provide the Service to you. We do not use your data to train machine-learning models, ours or anyone else's.

7. Our intellectual property

The Service itself, including its branding, design, source code, documentation, and content we author (excluding your data), is owned by us. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from it without our written permission.

8. Service availability

We do our best to keep the Service available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may need to take the Service offline temporarily for maintenance, updates, or emergency response, and we are not liable for any loss caused by such interruptions.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without any express or implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement. The Service is a tool to help you manage your freelance administration — it does not constitute tax, legal, or financial advice. You should seek qualified professional advice before acting on figures calculated by the Service.

10. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales.

Subject to the paragraph above, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of:

  • The amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or
  • £100.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses, including loss of profits, loss of business, or loss of data.

11. Termination

You may close your account at any time using the "Delete account" action in Account Settings. We may suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms, if your account has been inactive for an extended period, or if we are required to do so by law.

On termination, your access to the Service ends. You should export your data before closing your account; we will hold deleted data only for the period necessary to recover from a disaster or to comply with our legal obligations.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will email you at the address held on file at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not accept a change, you may close your account before it takes effect.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

14. Contact

Questions, complaints, or notices required by these Terms should be sent to support@fthehours.io. A postal address is available on written request.
